Smoothing Ragged Edges

About

Inner healing and a place of peace. ~Pat
Description
This page is a place to go to look for a sense of peace. Look into your inner self and heal those ragged edges. Also about growth while surviving. Mending the heart while becoming strong and finding that inner peace. It is the basic hope that those who need, receive, each at their own level. Sometimes we all need a little support and a little hope, and my wish is this page provides it.

Today I say thank you!

And also my life's journey, most of who will probably never see this post. But good or bad, everyone who is a thread in my life's weaving I say 'Thank You'. I am who I am today because of you. Have you said thank you to the people in your life?

Thank you to Heartfelt for this post.  It is so true.

Have a great Saturday!!

A few random posts.

I was lucky today as I was able to encourage a good friend and she was very happy with the change of outlook after. We both left feeling great about the solution after the encouragement.

And to do that, you need to decide, for you, what is important. Each day it may be different depending on circumstances.

If you pay attention.

I have found that in looking back I can see it. Even when I did not want to do something, so I didn't... like when in high school I wanted Spanish not French. Only French was offered. So I didn't take it. I ended up in Paris France for 15 years, married to a French man wishing I had taken French back in high school. But there have been so many instances, I literally have been pulled to where I am supposed to be. I finally figured out that had I just gone willingly it would have happened so much easier and quicker. Guess that is why they talk about how great hindsight is.

Thank you to the Tiny Buddha for this post.

After being shut in between taking care of mom and then covid, I am just now starting to think about doing more things with others. Hard to move out of that shell  and laugh, breathe and be free.

Interesting. It is sort of what last Sunday's sermon was about.  15 minutes of silence every day to listen for what God is trying to tell us.

Or by failure and learning. Learning what we can and can't change and acting accordingly. I really do post things that say something. I want people to think about healing, changing, becoming all they are to be. It is also why I have called it Smoothing Ragged Edges. We smooth the hurts, sand the edges, pave the bumps in life.

And on that note, have a wonderful day!!

 It's Raining, It's Pouring...

I notice the birds just continue to fly to the feeders, even the tiny hummingbirds do in the rain. It is those small moments in the morning I enjoy.

The gardens needed it. When if finally dries, I will have to mow. Oh yes, and paint the deck... but all that must get done will get done.

If we could remember things like this, perhaps we would do it as well. The world would be a better place. But on the other hand...

I know I have been blessed this summer with friends and relatives. I have gotten help around the house/yard, wood is coming in and I am quickly getting ready for winter.

 I love early morning.

But I don't get up early enough, often enough. Since being home and mom passing away I no longer must get up at a certain time. 6-6:30 used to be my norm, now it is more like 7:30. It still is so quiet and peaceful, this time of year there is often fog and dew. I eat, do my pages and then get out and try to do things. Today, split the 2 loads of wood Bob B (thank you again!!) brought me. I am out of t-posts so will run out to Nancy P's and grab a few. Filled the feeders, hummingbird and regular this morning... nice to see them come and get the sunflower seeds and hummingbirds look in the back window, like 'thank you'!!

The driveway got done yesterday, love it. Thank you to Buffmans and their company for doing it! It had been probably 45-50 years since anything had been done to it, showing my grandfather had done a great job of getting an awesome base down to begin with.  It will hold up long after I am gone I am sure.

Thank you to Counting My Blessings for this post. It is so true.  Even a smile for someone who looks sad, a hello, a wave at someone going by. Little things. It doesn't have to be huge to make a difference!

I don't know why, but this post called to me this morning. So here it is. If you get a chance to speak with someone today who needs to talk, just listen. Very hard to do often, but try it.  Someone out there needs to see this today!

Thank you to Lunasea Tarot & Magick for this post.  Which, is my time to get to work and say goodbye for today.

Have a day full of kindness. Be sure to listen and sprinkle that stuff around!
