Smoothing Ragged Edges

About

Inner healing and a place of peace. ~Pat
Description
This page is a place to go to look for a sense of peace. Look into your inner self and heal those ragged edges. Also about growth while surviving. Mending the heart while becoming strong and finding that inner peace. It is the basic hope that those who need, receive, each at their own level. Sometimes we all need a little support and a little hope, and my wish is this page provides it.

Forgiveness, can be a tough one.
Thank you Beyond Ordinary!
Forgiveness. That is a difficult one.  I do believe I have forgiven everyone now. It took a while to let some of them go. It is freeing, but very difficult to just do it. Knowing it doesn't excuse their behavior helps. That they will have to account for when the time comes.
It is storming out right now.  I am grateful no power lost yet.
My daughter came yesterday, was good to see her. She brought over some things I needed from the store 50 miles away and I was happy to see the groceries as well.
We got on the subject of how everyone seems so either angry, depressed, kids are all up and in trouble at school... we agreed part of it is the time of year. Stress from upcoming holidays, shorter days. There is a natural ending to things, as well as life this time of year. But there seems to be so much more anger than ever before. She is seeing it in the kids at school where she works. I do believe we will see many more problems before things turn around, if they do in my lifetime.
Thank you Sacred Soul Whispers.
I had not thought about redirection, roadblocks in life, problems as being part of an upgrade. It helps when looking at it as the outcome being positive. It just seems at the time we are so stressed out at what is happening that is all we see.
This one is so true, especially with all of the texting and online communication. It is incredibly easy to put your own tone into what is said, depending on what mood you are in.  I have had that happen more than once. A simple question could have resolved it, but that didn't happen. The tone of voice, body language tells so much of what is behind what is said.  We don't get that online.
Thank you...Tess Reni.
While I can see where she was going with this, I don't totally agree with it. You can feel the love and caring someone gives. Just as you can feel anger or nothing from someone. Maybe she couldn't.  I don't know. I know they can give it and quit giving it... I had a priest one time talk about what do you get from oranges when squeezed. Of course we all thought it was a trick question... Orange juice of course. So if the person is full of love, you squeeze (put  pressure on in some way) you get love, full of anger, you get anger and so on.
I think that is also true.  The old saying "still waters run deep" was made for a reason.
Thank you Rebecca Baldwin.
Have a good Monday!!

If it doesn't open, it is not your door.

How long do we pull on it until we figure it out? Guess that is the big question.
Thank you Soul Signs.
Thank you A Peaceful Place.

 It is Saturday Again.

The sun is trying to shine.  It may be a good day to go out and move some leaves to the garden, see if I can move the things around so it is done for this year. Pull out the blower... Hoping I don't have to use it much this year!

Thank you Tiny Buddha.
I can't remember how many times I have heard the first part in different forms.  I know I needed the second part much more.  I once had a person close to me tell me there are two types of people in this world.  There are the flowers and then there are the gardeners. Which are you?  I tend to be the gardener. I would love to experience being a flower for a change.
I think it is easier than we realize to lose ourselves.  It happens a little at a time. Especially if you are a caregiver, 'gardener', empath or just generally a nice person.  There is burnout when  you are the first two-three
. I was told not long ago that "you are just burned out" after talking to a friend of mine in France.  She used to be a professional counselor. Actually she called me two days later to tell me that after thinking about all I had said.  That and dealing with grief that I have not done.  Didn't have time to do that when I came back from France. Grief from leaving my home, friends...my husband dying. Since then I have lost 4 friends there. My mom here, other friends here.  The hits just keep coming.
Thank you Imperfectly Simple!
Now I am working on the inside of the house. Sorting, changing things around, cleaning.  I want to figure out what I 'want' and don't want. What is me and the rest goes. Seems daunting, but I will just go from corner to corner through the house until it is fairly done.  I know it will never be totally done as long as I am alive, as I change, so does what I want around me.
I know I am  not 'broken', I just need some time and rest. Peace. Hopefully I will get all I need this winter.

Have a great Saturday!!

 Today's Post. It is Friday!!

I am having a hard time believing another week has gone by.  They are flying in some ways and dragging in others... I have found out there will be no Thanksgiving dinner here, because family is not coming over. Daughter is working and granddaughter? Probably with her boyfriends family. It will be just another day. But, looking at the positive, I won't have all that cooking and clean up after. I can make something simple I enjoy and be done with it... reading a good book or watching a DVD I enjoy. Sounds good to me!

Right now? I would say less than I can count on one hand who may truly understand me.  Two I can think of in particular who I have always been totally honest with. About everything. That is difficult at the best of times but so worth it when it means something to have them.
This is something I have struggled with all my life.  All but 2 of them apply, and those two do in part. Sometimes I just have to shut down to deal with everything, processing internally very slowly until I can 'reopen'.

Thank you Spirit Trails!

I seem to have never been one to follow the normal path. Many have not understood that. That is one big problem with people feeling like everyone should be like them, think like them, almost to the point of lets clone ourselves to them. The ones society says are leading the way.  I am different, I know I am, I am accepting that I am. I have not always accepted that...but I have always gone down my own path. I am not lost.
Thank you Art of Poets.
There is a fine line between each of those. Hard to walk that line. Even more difficult when you give and know someone cannot give back, at least not like you want. It does tend to leave you feeling used, battered at times. Trust for me is a difficult one on top of it all.  Too many past betrayals. I can see why people harden to everyone around them, at times it feels  necessary to just survive.

I do try and keep this positive. But let's be realistic. Life is not positive all the time. We can strive for it, but we are constantly being hit with negativity all around us.  We must see it for what it is and try and be as positive as we can be.  So, yes, I am not going to always be positive in my reflections. Especially if I am going to be honest with them.

Have a great Friday!!  Enjoy life while you are still living!

At midnight, I realized no post.

The mind is a funny thing. Well, maybe not 'funny', but you understand what I am saying. I actually got on the computer in the afternoon to do the post... not a clue what happened because as I said, at midnight I remembered not doing it. My mind seems to review my day for things I did and didn't do but wanted to, items I wanted to remember or find. But usually always when I am trying to sleep.

Thank you MW Facets
I loved that show.  I never did get to see all of it. Perhaps because I related more to Meredith. I think it is not always about being broken each time... maybe just not any help in repairing an old break when in a new relationship. The love and acceptance is not felt, even if there.
Thank you M.G. Williams.
This posting is basically all black and white this morning, but I am counting it for yesterday.  I will do one later when I am feeling colors for today.

 Welcome November and the snow...

Well, not welcome to the snow.  I can't believe it is still here and not melted off.  That doesn't bode well for this winter.

It is obviously going to be one of those days for the blog.  I have put up 3 posts, removed 2 of them so far. Seems I am not relating to much I am seeing, even though I have a folder full of them that I want to post.
I think that is true for all of us, unless you are one of those who either already traveled it or not had any reason to question it.
Thank you The Soul Leaf.
Thank you Still Moments.
May you have a great day and enjoy the first day of the new month.
